One of my first looks from New York Fashion Week. Super casual, but considering it was at least minus 10 that day – feeling like minus 22 – it was the best I decision ever to go this casual! I love the mix of the oversized parka and trainers, and the sequin Chanel bag. It would have been even better if I had been wearing a pair of heels, preferably stilettos, but I’m definitely not that crazy to do that when it’s this cold…
The first and the last time – as far as I can remember – that I wore green was when I was pregnant with James, we just moved to London, and we were living in our first apartment in the City – the most boring part to live in. My green jacket looked so amazing, but somehow, until now, I’ve been hesitant buying pieces in green. It’s really hard to find just that right shade, and then of course, the design of the piece itself.
During fashion week – every fashion week, in every city, every season again – we get to see the latest collections and the trends for the coming season. It’s incredibly inspiring, and everyone with the slightest interest in this industry – but not there in person – hovers around online waiting for the last catwalk photos to pop up.
Today marked the first day of New York Fashion Week and I started with an early morning visit to one of my favorites: Frame Denim. They stole my heart with their first ready-to-wear collection: 70’s in every way I like it. Camel, navy, and denim. Flares, suede, and overalls. Knee-high boots, chunky knitwear, and last but not least, high-waists to the max. I know that last one is tricky. I myself am sitting behind my desk with an unbuttoned jeans all the time, but as long as I keep walking, we’re good.
In celebration of the Valentino NYC store opening, watch the beautiful Haute Couture show live from New York tonight at 8PM EST. It’s promised to be yet again one of those unforgettable events AND collections. I heard it’s something with all-white… and designs from years ago, brought back to life… Can’t wait!!
