After a fantastic start of New York Fashion Week with my own event hosting up on Columbus Avenue, a store opening + after party with Cartier, and tons of fittings to get my fashion week wardrobe street-style ready, day 2 – but you could technically say day 1 – started with Creatures of Comfort SS17.
My most recent Haute Couture week in Paris was a little extra special than it usually is, because this time not only the dreamy shows and beautiful dresses made it to an unforgettable week, but even more the fact that I had James and Stella, and my lovely husband by my side. This has to be the best Elie Saab look I’ve ever had the chance to wear to one of their shows – Haute Couture and RTW! A “Period-feel” with the leather details on the skirt, combined with romantic lace. See-through, yet almost completely covered-up. More is definitely less, and the Victorian-style here to stay – for a little longer…
I’ve been called looking like a shaved cucumber wearing this dress… Yes! Really! I truly don’t understand why “people out there” can compare something so beautiful with a cucumber!?! Maybe it was me… I don’t know, but let’s be honest, you don’t have to be into fashion, nor loving-it-to-bits like I do, to understand the beauty of a piece like this. Anyway, haters will be haters, and fortunately it was only on The New York Time Fashion’s Instagram this trolling person acted out. Green of envy of course lol. That’s how I like to see it…
To me Haute Couture is like a dream. If I think about fairy princesses, I think about Couture dresses, preferably with myself in it. There’s no prince nor kissing a frog involved in getting me to feel that magical, a Couture dress would simply do. And I guess that’s what makes me come back to the Couture shows in Paris every season… Last July I was in Rome with Valentino, in January I went to my first Chanel Haute Couture show, and this season it was all my favorites in a row: Valentino, Chanel, and Elie Saab. Dreams do come true…
