In the burning sun – in the middle of summer – I gathered on the streets of New York with my favorite British brand: Burberry, and Saks. Together we shot an amazing editorial around the new Saks exclusive: the Burberry Kensington Cashmere Trench collection. With an ode to everything cashmere – not only fashion, but also a cashmere beauty line – Burberry celebrates it’s heritage cross borders, and transitioning from Summer to Fall.
One fine afternoon in downtown Manhatten, spotting the cool street-art hearts by James Goldcrown, followed by a quick stop at Bradley Theordore’s atelier in DUMBO, Brooklyn. That pretty much sums up how I spend my first post-NYFW Friday, and it was truly amazing. I must admit, I was soexhausted after fashion week that the idea of strolling around in Soho and sorts, especially on a busy Friday afternoon, didn’t really spark more than the true excitement of wearing a full Longchamp look – usually I would be the first in line to get out there to see some (street)art… but fashion week brings you down.
And just like that, I’m wearing floral two times in a row. Not the usual me, but that’s what Fashion Month is for, exploring and experimenting with new and different things. The floral dress I’m wearing today is very different from the one I posted last week in the sense that I feel more 60s and playful in this one, whilst the one I wore to Delpozo gave me more of a boho-vibe. Both incredibly beautiful and a pleasure to wear.
Many of my fellow New Yorkers keep spreading the word that summer is ending soon. I’m not entirely sure if this is something that saddens me, or makes me thrilled for the new season to come, and with that, a new wardrobe… Regardless, this means a beautiful Indian summer is upon us, followed by a short Fall, and most likely a long Winter…
Note to self: Wear skinny jeans with nude heels more often. I don’t know what and when, but somewhere along the blogging-line I lost interest in wearing my skinny jeans. It used to be a staple, but now you would have to real dig deep to find a pair of skinnies in my wardrobe. Where did it go wrong?
